Sebago Lake is a massive lake in Southern Maine, covering more than 28,000 acres and having over 100 miles of shoreline. Nearly 100,000 anglers visit the lake every year. The lake has several areas over 300 feet deep and the island town of Frye Island is a destination for boaters. This deepwater is one of the most ideal Landlocked Salmon habitats in the country. Towns around Sebago Lake include Baldwin, Casco, Naples, Raymond, Sebago, Standish, and Windham. There are numerous boat launches and marinas around the lake. The Songo Locks dam system that links Sebago Lake to Brandy Pond and Long Lake is the last of the Cumberland and Oxford Canal remains. The canal was constructed in the early 1930s and had a similar lock system that boats and ferries could navigate from the Atlantic Ocean all the way to the public boat launch in Harrison Village. This way of traveling would be replaced by railroads in the mid 19th century. Contact Pomerleau Realty Group to schedule a showing or to speak with an agent.
